I am from Bellingham, Washington; a sweet, little town in the upper left corner of the United States. Bellingham is one of my favorite places to go, simply because it has a bit of everything. Now that I live away from it, I realize how lucky I was to grow up somewhere so beautiful. The sunsets alone are absolutely breathtaking, but add in the mountains, the ocean, the forest, and the city and it is one of the most idyllic places.
My favorite area is Fairhaven because it’s full of small boutiques and shops that each have something one-of-a-kind to offer. Check out my picture and see if you can spot the sign in the background! Strolling through the stores, shopping for a unique piece is one of my favorite pasttimes. Cafes play local music and serve a special blend of coffee, the bakeries have fresh pastries, and there is a musician on the corner playing his piano- rain or shine. One of the best parts of being here is knowing that in this town you can meet all sorts of people, and the adventures are endless.
Bellingham has some unbeatable food. One of my favorite things to get is a crepe, but finding them gluten-free can be so difficult. Fortunately, AB Crepes has gluten-free crepes and they are so good. I like to try them wherever I travel and I have yet to find a place that has crepes as good as them, gluten-free or not. One of the other places I always make a stop at is Woods Coffee. I don’t drink coffee–sorry guys–but I love my vanilla chai tea and it is delicious here. They also have a “monster cookie” and it is absolutely amazing. I am obsessed, and probably get it too often, but hey you can never have too many cookies, right? On top of the drinks and cookies, the atmosphere that Woods has is so cozy and makes studying or hanging out with friends even better. Okay, sorry I will stop obsessing! Oh, and in case you guys didn’t know, Bellingham is known for two things other than coffee–beer and seafood. Personally, I am not a fan of beer, BUT seafood is my life. Let me tell you now that if you ever visit and need a food recommendation, seafood is always a good choice.
FUN FACT: Hunter and I had our first date at a surf and turf resturaunt and that’s when I found out he doesn’t like seafood– I should have just ended the date right there on the spot. Kidding, but seriously seafood is one of my main food groups!
For Veteran’s Day Weekend, I went back home and had a little down time during the long weekend. School has been so busy, and I needed a break, so having a little extra time to relax was much needed. While I was home I did a little car maintence, hungout with my family, and I met with my sweet friend, Katie, for a little photoshoot. I brought one of my dogs, Gunner, with me and GUYS he was posing for pictures! He loves being in front of the camera and was the life of the party the entire shoot! Katie managed to snap this picture of him and it makes me laugh so hard. Look at him! Also little shoutout to Katie, she is an absolute gem and I had a blast taking pictures with her! Feel free to check out her photography; I linked her website here for you guys!
I hope you all had a wonderful Veteran’s Day Weekend!
